Our First Highlight—Food Pantries

As part of our 60th Anniversary celebration, CAO of WNY dedicated February to highlighting one of our most vital services: our food pantries. For decades, we’ve been a pillar of support in the fight against food insecurity, ensuring families across Western New York have access to nutritious meals.

Each week, our pantries provide fresh produce, proteins, and essential groceries to over 200 families. Beyond distribution, we deliver food to seniors and families facing mobility challenges. Through partnerships with local organizations, we extend our reach, making sure food gets to those who need it most.

In addition to our own efforts, CAO of WNY has joined forces with Buffalo Farm Shares to further combat food deserts and increase access to locally sourced, high-quality food. This partnership, supported by the New York Food for New York Families Grant, has enabled us to connect socially disadvantaged growers with underserved communities, bringing fresh, nutritious food to those who need it most.

Our Ageless Wonders Program

Ageless Wonders is our Senior Program, created to celebrate, support, and empower older adults in our community. Through art workshops, social engagement, and wellness-focused activities, the program fosters connection, creativity, and continued purpose for our seniors across Buffalo and Western New York.

Ageless Wonders is also the title of our new documentary that shines a light on this very program. Set in Buffalo, the film follows participants as they take part in a unique analog photography workshop led by artist Vicente Rondon. Through powerful portraits and candid conversations, the documentary captures not only the beauty of large-format photography—but also the deep reflections, stories, and wisdom of the elders who make the program so special.
