Hope . Help . Empowerment

Dear CAO of WNY Family

That’s a wrap! The term is often used to signify the conclusion or completion of filming or production. Here at CAO of WNY, we wrapped up our year with much to be proud of as we reflect on the past year.

In 2022, we focused on improving our internal infrastructure, process, and systems. A few examples include implementation of a new financial/accounting system, enhancement to our website, capacity building of our internal compliance system, technology improvements, and enhanced cyber security measures. Last, but not least, our rebranding through a new logo design symbolizes our transformation.

Though the primary focus during 2022 was infrastructural and systems improvement, we also made strides in building a foundation for improving our programs and exploring new services.

As I look forward to 2023 and beyond, I am excited that we, as an organization, are envisioning some exciting and innovative approaches to addressing poverty and inequality in our community. These include expanding educational services to provide a continuum of care beyond the Early Head Start and Head Start programs, offering new affordable rental and single-family homes, enhancing program offerings for our seniors, and exploring new approaches to addressing the youth violence issue in Buffalo.

We also recognize that we cannot do this alone, which is why we continue to explore and build new partnerships and collaborations. In addition, we will launch phase two of internal process improvement projects in 2023 to strengthen our organization further.

Our work is not just a job; it is a calling and a mission to change the pathway for children, teens, adults/families, and senior citizens. It is a worthy mission that requires laser-focused effort to ensure that every time we touch a life through various CAO programs, it truly makes a difference—a difference that changes the trajectory for a better, safer, healthier, and prosperous future. I am proud to be part of this journey and look forward to a great future.

I wish you a happy and blessed holiday season and a happy New Year.
